YOUR GUIDE TO PERFECT SUMMER SKIN

Summer is finally here in all its glory, and it’s time to soak up the sun, enjoy days at the beach, and embrace the sun-kissed glow we can’t help but love. However, before you grab your beach towel and head out into the sun, don’t forget to not only protect, but hydrate your skin. Summer weather can be harsh and especially drying for our skin, so it requires extra care and consideration this season.

YOU HAVE HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE… PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM THE SUN

The sun feels sooo good on our skin, but it also damages it tremendously, causing early aging and sometimes cancer. We truly cannot reiterate enough how essential it is to protect your skin from the elements. Beyond having high-quality sunscreen, it’s imperative to bring a wide-brimmed sun hat or umbrella to the beach. This will help shade your precious skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

MOISTURIZE MORE THAN EVER

The dry air can damage your skin’s texture, creating a dull, patchy and dry appearance on your skin, so it’s important not to forget your daily moisturizer. While you don’t want one that is too greasy, you can get away with adding extra oils and serums to your skin during your night routine. Another great way to moisturize your skin is to get a DiamondGlow facial. A DiamondGlow treatment hydrates your skin and extracts and exfoliates, revealing a beautiful, dewy, youthful glow. This treatment will also protect your skin, saturating your skin with antioxidants. Your skin will thank you.

REDUCE YOUR WRINKLES

If you already have some pesky wrinkles that you’d like to improve, consider a Botox/Dysport or Filler treatment. Neuromodulators work by relaxing the muscles around your face, while fillers can fill in and contour your skin, creating a more youthful appearance. Both of these treatments have no downtime and produce results right away.

DITCH THE TANNING BEDS…FOR GOOD

While getting a quick tan may be tempting, it can damage your skin and increase the likelihood of cancerous melanoma. If you want an instant summer glow, try less-damaging methods such as self-tanner or spray tans. There are newer options available that do not include harmful parabens or sulfates. That way, you can get a summer glow without unnecessarily damaging your skin (that you work so hard to maintain all year long).

WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

While we already (once or twice) mentioned skin protection with hats and sunscreen, wearing protective cover-ups and clothing will protect the rest of your skin from damage. They are both functional and fashionable!
